Who is responsible
BillTuck is provided by Jonathan Estuardo Benavides Vallejo, Switzerland. For privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests, email jonathan.benavides@suyai.ch.
Information stored on your iPhone
BillTuck saves the original PDFs and images you import, filenames, import status, and bill details such as provider, invoice date, invoice number, amount, and currency. It also stores your corrections, provider aliases, duplicate-detection information, and the optional business name you add to reports. Documents can contain other personal information, including names, addresses, account references, and payment details.
The app uses its private local storage and shared storage for handing documents from the Share Extension to the main app. It does not require a BillTuck account or provide a BillTuck cloud library. Your normal Apple device-backup settings may include app data.
We use this information to save and organize your bills, extract details, check for possible duplicates, calculate totals, and create the reports you request. Your library remains stored until you delete it. Generated reports also use temporary storage on your device.
Automatic AI extraction
When the main app is open and processing is available, it sends the original PDF or image through AIProxy to OpenAI to extract bill details. A PDF request includes its filename. Requests also contain provider names already known to your local library so the result can match an existing provider. The full document is processed, including personal information it contains, rather than only the fields that appear in BillTuck's summary.
The Share Extension first saves a local copy. The main app subsequently processes the import. If processing fails or details are uncertain, the saved document remains available for review or manual correction. Editing a saved bill and calculating report totals take place locally.
BillTuck requests that OpenAI response storage be disabled. This is not a promise of zero retention. OpenAI's current API policy says API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default; account-level data-sharing choices can change this. Abuse-monitoring records may include content and are normally retained for up to 30 days, with longer retention possible for legal or safety reasons. Prompt caching and safety review of file inputs can have separate retention rules. See OpenAI API data controls.
AI service metadata
AIProxy processes technical information needed to authenticate requests and operate the service. This includes your IP address, an Apple vendor device identifier, DeviceCheck authentication, app and operating-system versions, device model, request time, and request size. Its SDK can send diagnostic information when device authorization fails.
AIProxy's published policy states that request usage records, including IP addresses, response status, usage metadata, and error response bodies, are retained for 30 days. BillTuck does not enable the SDK's request- or response-body console logging. See the AIProxy privacy policy.
Purchases
Where in-app purchases are available, BillTuck uses Apple and RevenueCat to provide purchase options, confirm Pro access, and restore purchases. RevenueCat uses a randomly generated app user identifier and processes purchase history, transaction or receipt information, access status, and technical information such as device type and operating system. Purchase information also supports the developer's purchase reporting and fraud prevention. BillTuck does not send your bills or extracted bill details to RevenueCat.
Apple handles App Store payment details. The app stores a local copy of purchase-access status so its import allowance and Share Extension can recognize Pro access. Purchase records are separate from your bill library and may need to remain available to restore a purchase or meet legal obligations. See RevenueCat's privacy information and Apple's privacy policy.
Notifications
With your permission, BillTuck uses local iOS notifications to tell you that a saved bill needs review. The notification text does not contain filenames, provider names, or amounts. An internal import identifier allows a notification to open the relevant bill. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings.
Deleting data and exporting copies
Use Settings → Delete All Data to remove BillTuck's local bills, originals, providers, imports, generated report files, and report business name. The app may resume interrupted file cleanup when it next opens. This action keeps the free-import allowance record, which contains up to three random import identifiers, so deleting documents does not restart the free allowance. It does not erase your purchase status or purchase-service records.
Deleting local data does not delete copies you shared with another app or person, device backups, or information still retained by AI or purchase providers. Manage exported copies and backups in the destination service. Contact us for requests concerning service-provider records; include the approximate processing time or relevant purchase reference so we can try to locate the record. Do not include full bills in your first email unless they are necessary to explain the request.
When you use the system share sheet, the destination you choose receives the exported file. Its use and retention are governed by that destination's privacy practices.
BillTuck website pages and support
The BillTuck landing page, guides, and this policy are static pages. They do not provide a bill-upload form, and they do not add advertising cookies or visitor analytics scripts. Our hosting provider, Netlify, receives technical request information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to deliver and protect the pages. Hosting and security records are handled under the hosting service's settings and retention policies. See Netlify's privacy information.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use them to respond and handle the request. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the issue and meet applicable obligations. Links to the App Store and other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies. Other Suyai apps have separate privacy policies.
International processing and your choices
Your local bill library is on your device, but AI processing, purchase services, website hosting, and support can involve processing outside Switzerland or your country, including in the United States. Provider locations and retention depend on the services and account settings used. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and may have rights to portability, to object, or to restrict processing. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw that consent. We may need information to verify a request and locate records. You can also contact the relevant data protection authority, including the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
BillTuck's AI extraction produces editable bill information. It does not make credit, eligibility, or other decisions about you. BillTuck is intended for people organizing their bills and business expenses, and is not designed for children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when BillTuck or its service providers change. The date above identifies the latest version. For questions about a change, contact jonathan.benavides@suyai.ch.
